Solairus Aviation was founded in 2009. In May 2009, Solairus obtained FAR Part 135 certification, which enabled them to expand their service offerings to the private travel marketplace and provide their managed aircraft owners a supplemental revenue source. In September 2009, Solairus earned “10 or more”, seating/large cabin authority. In June 2010, Solairus Aviation added six new aircraft to its fleet. These aircraft include a Florida based Gulfstream G550, a Connecticut based Bombardier Global Express, and a Seattle based Challenger 605. The California fleet additions included a Dassault Falcon 900 and a Challenger 601. Based out of its corporate offices in Petaluma and Burlingame, CA, and in May 2011, Solairus Aviation opened its third office located in Denver, CO. The company’s fleet now numbers nearly 50 aircraft under management, ranging from King Airs and Citations to Gulfstream and Global Express aircraft, over twenty of which are available for on-demand air charter. The aircraft are based in more than a dozen states throughout the U.S.
